CMSformE 0.0.5 Released

The CMSformE Crew is pleased to announce the release of CMSformE version 0.0.5, the "nice to see you're still alive" edition.

It is expected that this will be the last version released on the 0.0.x branch. Development will continue on the 0.1.x branch, as it has for the past two and a half years. If anyone is interested in helping further the development of CMSformE at a much more reasonable pace, please feel free to contact me via PM.

With this release, the files will no longer be available via an attachment on the forums. They will only be available through the SourceForge File Release System. This ensures that download statistics are properly recorded.

And, with that, on to the downloads:

New and Improved Forums!

After all these years, I've finally upgraded the forums. For those who are unaware, we got hacked many moons ago thanks to that infamous phpBB 2.0.8 highlighting exploit. Rather than upgrading then, I just closed the forums.

But now, I've upgraded to the latest and greatest phpBB3 and set up the workarounds for running it on SourceForge. And I promise to keep it up-to-date this time.

So welcome back, and restart the discussion. We sure could use some!

Oh, and I've heard it through the grapevine (yes, I occasionally talk to myself) that we may be releasing CMSformE v0.0.5 soon to fix a bunch of annoying bugs (including some backported sessions stuff).

CMSformE Conference 2005

It's that time of year again, folks. That's right, time for another CMSformE Conference!

This year, we've planned it a lot less haphazardly and at a presumably better and more convenient time for everyone. (Incidentally, the minutes from the last conference are available upon request. They will most likely be released to the general public in the near future.) As with the last one, this conference will be held to benefit the developers of CMSformE by getting input from current or potential users. There will be discussion regarding current and future development, including features that should and should not be implemented. Also, if anyone wants to help develop, document, or localize (language or DBMS) CMSformE, they can apply by visiting the conference, as well. The specific contents of the agenda will likely be announced at a later date.

The conference will last for 2 weeks straight, rather than multiple chunks of 3-5 days:

Starting: Friday, July 1, 2005 @ 12:00 AM EDT
Ending: Friday, July 15, 2005 @ 12:00 AM EDT

All sessions will be held in the CMSformE IRC channel. See this topic for more details. If you do not have an IRC client, and you would like to join in the discussion, Music-HQ.net has been nice enough to donate a Java IRC client and the bandwidth used to operate it. It can be found here.

If you do plan on attending, please reply to this topic so that we can get a handle on the amount of people to expect.

Thanks for your interest in CMSformE, and we hope to see you at the conference!
